Available only in select Zojirushi rice cookers, the steel cut oatmeal setting differentiates itself as a separate menu function as it requires a shorter completion time than regular porridge meanwhile the GABA brown rice settings help activate the gamma-aminobutyric acid naturally found in brown rice by keeping the rice in a steady, 2 hour-long state in 104°F prior to cooking. By doing this, it is believed that the activated amino acid aids in alleviating stress, improve kidney function and lower blood pressure. The NS-LGC05 comes with a Rinse OK nonstick interior cooking pan which enables the user to rinse the rice within the actual cooking pan rather than using a separate bowl and colander.
